Black Enterprise:NAACP Acquires Part Ownership Stake in Hello Alice to Build Black Generational Wealth
Aiming to build generational wealth for Black Americans, the NAACP has acquired a part ownership stake in the technology firm Hello Alice. The unprecedented action by the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights group will allow it to boost its relationship with Hello Alice. Based in Houston, Hello Alice is a free, multichannel platform that helps businesses launch and grow. It has 500,000 business owners in all 50 states and globally in its community. It reportedly is the largest digital platform helping small businesses start and scale via access to capital.

Prism:To build back better, we must build back Black
Imagine a society free of the deeply rooted impacts of structural and institutional racism. A society where race is no longer a determining factor in how families and communities fared economically. A society where Black families and other communities of color had equitable access to jobs, fair pay, adequate training, free education, affordable health care, and child care—allowing us to create more opportunities to build generational wealth and achieve some aspects of the American Dream. Policymakers can make real progress today on this vision, yet time and time again, they choose not to. And we are tired of waiting.
